Rick Ross Trilla Album Review

I got the opportunity to listen to Rick Ross’ new album Trilla before it hits stores on Tuesday March 11th. Trilla is the follow up to his first CD Port of Miami which sold over 750,000 copies. Port of Miami was a good CD and I was expecting the same for Trilla. Trilla was originally supposed to come out in December but got pushed back to February and eventually pushed to March. We have been waiting a long time for this CD but it was defiantly worth the wait. The album has 14 tracks and I liked all but 3 songs. Ross has a lot of guest appearances on the album including Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, T-Pain, Nelly, Trey Songz, R. Kelly, Mannie Fresh, Triple C’s, Rodney, Avery Storm, and Trick Daddy. Ross mostly raps about money, drug trafficking, and being a boss. Ross also shows us a lighter and more sensitive side of himself on the last track on the CD called “I’m Only Human” in which he raps about growing up without a father and how he’s only human and that he also makes mistakes. The 2 singles from the CD so far are “Boss” and “Speedin”, both of which are good songs and catchy. These 2 tracks are getting a lot of radio play right now. Ross is from Miami which he calls Mi-Yayo because of all the cocaine transported through there. In the tracks “This is the Life”, “We Shinin”, and “Maybach Music”, Ross talks about living the good life, making money, and all the cars he has. One of the things I found really funny though was that Ross says boss at least three times in every song. Rick Ross is one of the rappers responsible for putting Florida on the hip-hop map and he’s helping many Florida rappers including Flo-Rida and Brisco get more known. Overall Trilla is really good and one of the better CD’s I’ve heard in a while. I would give Trilla 4 stars out of 5. Here’s Ross’ latest video Boss featuring T-Pain.
